Flow into Fall Detox Juices and Smoothies

For a fall detox cleansing juice or smoothie, stick with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Fall foods to use in your cleansing juices include apples, beets, sweet potato, carrot, ginger, pomegranate, leafy greens and citrus. Here are some of my favorite fall detox drinks!

Carrot Turmeric Immunity Builder Juice

  • 1 large sweet potato

  • 4 large carrots

  • 1 crisp apple, your choice!

  • 1- inch ginger root

  • 1- inch turmeric root

  • Pinch of black pepper and cinnamon

Throw the above ingredients in your juicer and top off your fresh glass of (pure energy :) with a pinch of black pepper and cinnamon for extra pizzazz. Drink as soon as possible, or store in the refrigerator in a sealed glass jar for up to two days. Turmeric Lattes are another great way to enjoy the benefits of this herb and keep warm in these cooler months!

Apple Beet Cleanse and Reboot Juice

  • 1 medium beet

  • 1 large apple

  • 3 radishes

  • 1 cup fresh kale leaves or other leafy green

  • Add squeeze of lemon to taste

Place all ingredients above (except lemon) in the juicer or blender (strain after processing) and blend away. If using the blend/strain method, better to peel the beet, apple and radishes to avoid the extra pulp. Add lemon to your liking and drink as soon as possible, or store in the refrigerator in a sealed glass jar for up to two days.

Fall Flavors Detox Smoothie

  • 2 carrots, peeled and slightly chopped

  • 1 apple, cored, peeled and slightly chopped

  • 1/2 an orange or 2 clementines, peeled (bottled orange juice is a last resort as it’s typically high in sugar)

  • 1 inch ginger root, peeled

  • Optional 1 tsp bee pollen for added immune strength

  • Optional 1 handful leafy greens (the smoothie color will not be orange, but you will have more energy!) Or add a scoop of green powder.

  • 6 ice cubes and water to fill-line (could also substitute coconut water for some of the water for added hydration and nutrient perks).

Blend and enjoy!

Kale Pomegranate Fall Superfood Smoothie

  • 1 Frozen Banana

  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

  • 5 Dates

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes

  • 1 handful of kale or other leafy greens

  • Optional 1 tsp bee pollen for added immune strength

  • Optional 1 oz almonds or pecans

  • Water or coconut water, added slowly until you have your ideal consistency

Blend and enjoy!

Additional Pro Tips:

  • When fruit is on sale, buy twice as much. Wash half immediately when you get home from the grocery and put in the freezer to use for smoothies instead of ice cubes, which helps maintain a rich flavor. I always have frozen cubed (peeled) ginger root, pomegranate seeds, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries (be sure to remove the leaves first), pineapple and bananas.

  • Keep your seeds, nuts, bee pollen and other often-used ingredients in mason jars or other glass jars on your kitchen counter or island to make it easy on yourself and to shorten prep time. Let go of what the kitchen looks like and lean-in to feeling your best.

  • Buy kale, spinach and other leafy greens in bulk and pre-washed for ease of use. You can also make a puree in a high-speed blender (add a little bit of water), freeze in silicone muffin mould or ice cube trays and then transfer into baggies later.
